COACHING
Coaching
for writers.
I am a qualified Life Coach with the Coaching Academy.
I trained as a creative coach after experiencing the benefits of a coach in my own career. After early success as a playwright, I found I had no time to write when I was teaching drama in a secondary school for 3 years. I wanted to refocus on my stuttering writing career. After 5 sessions, I was able to generate new opportunities, Arts Council mentorship, and some work for TV, relaunching my passion and career as a writer.
I have worked with a range of writers, artists, and others as a coach. I can help you overcome creative blocks, manage self-doubt, and build a sustainable writing routine. Unlike script editing, coaching focuses on your mindset, habits, and the daily obstacles that keep you from finishing your project, supporting you to make good goals, work with your reality, explore blue-sky options, and plan accountability for the next steps you need to move towards the goals.
I run individual sessions, or three or five sessions, and also run day-long retreats—Wild At Heart Writers’ days (mentioned in ‘Body and Soul Escapes’ by Caroline Sylger-Jones).
